El pastor Shertzer aceptó a Cristo como su Señor a los 7 años. Comenzó sus estudios teológicos a los 21 años en el Rosedale Bible College, seguido del Word of Life Institute, donde participó en el grupo de teatro, el coro y los ministerios de evangelización. Posteriormente, asistió a la Universidad de Campbell y a la Universidad Central de Carolina del Norte, graduándose con honores con una Licenciatura en Educación Musical, con especialización en coro.
Su labor misionera lo ha llevado a Ucrania, Guyana y Argentina. Con más de 40 años de experiencia en la música, toca el piano, la batería, el violín y la guitarra, y ha participado en actuaciones a capella y cuartetos de barbería.
Le apasiona servir a los niños de grupos minoritarios con discapacidades mentales y físicas; trabajar como especialista en comportamiento con personas dentro del espectro autista es su gran alegría, y compartir el evangelio como pastor de jóvenes en eventos y programas juveniles como los clubes Awana, CEF y VBS le ha brindado experiencia y amor por el ministerio infantil.
Además, posee una Maestría en Consejería Clínica de Salud Mental del Seminario Teológico Pentecostal (PTS).

En la comunidad, es voluntario del Equipo Comunitario de Respuesta a Emergencias (CERT), ha impartido educación Montessori en preescolar y primaria, y está certificado por la Cruz Roja Americana como instructor de RCP y primeros auxilios, además de ser notario público registrado. Junto con su esposa e hija, está fundando la Iglesia Bilingüe Abundante Gracia en el Condado de Wake, que sirve a las áreas de Raleigh, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Apex, Clayton y Cary, Carolina del Norte.

Pastor Shertzer accepted Christ as his Lord at the age of 7 He began his theological studies at the age of 21 at Rosedale Bible College, followed by the Word of Life Institute, where he participated in the drama group, choir, and inner outreach ministries, later attended Campbell University and NC Central University, graduating with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, focusing on choir.
His missionary work has taken him to Ukraine, Guyana, and Argentina in South America. With over 40 years of experience in music, he plays the piano, drums, violin and guitar, and was involved in cappella performances and barbershop quartets.
He is passionate about serving minority groups children with mental and physical challenges, working as a Behavioral Specialist with individuals on the autism spectrum is his joy , and sharing the gospel as a Youth Pastor in youth events and programs like Awana clubs, CEF, and VBS have given him experience and love for children ministry.
Additionally, he holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Pentecostal Theological Seminary (PTS).

In the community, he volunteers with the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), has taught Montessori education in preschool and primary settings, and is certified by the American Red Cross as a CPR/Aid instructor and a registered Notary Public. Together with his wife and daughter, he is planting Abundante Gracia Bilingual Church in Wake County, which serves areas of Raleigh, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Apex, Clayton, and Cary, NC.
